Power as a Mission Critical System

Join Underwriter - Mark Harris, VP of Marketing, Server Technology Inc. (Reno, NV) along with Bobby Brown, VP of Operations and Support, GoGrid (San Francisco) at Uptime Institute's Symposium 2012 as they talk about "Power as a Mission Critical System."

This presentation will explore the more demanding nature of distributing and pro-actively managing power in today's data centers. The demand for processing in all market segments is rapidly increasing and in response, the density and power requirements for IT equipment is increasing as well. Data Centers are running hotter. The requirement on the power chain in terms of reliability have never been tested so extensively.

Bobby Brown is Vice President of Operations and Support for GoGrid and responsible for setting up GoGrid's European operations. He started with ServePath (GoGrid's founding company in 2005), and has been working in high tech / Internet since 1996 when he quickly found that working in leading-edge technology was his calling, making GoGrid a natural fit. Working for startups such as North Point Communications and Google as well as larger tech companies such as SBC (now AT&T) and Nortel Networks, Bobby brings a good blend of work experience that helps companies run efficiently while still being able to scale properly.
Bobby is also an avid tennis player, which allows him to exert some of the stresses of running two 24x7 departments that require and maintain 100% uptime. Traveling the globe and music are two other hobbies that keep Bobby on his toes, and most people will agree that he leads by example by creating a hard-working yet fun work environment.
