GoGrid Now Offers Windows Server 2008 Cloud Servers

GoGrid is the first to offer Windows Server 2008 in the Cloud

San Francisco, CA August 18, 2008—GoGrid, the leading service provider of Windows and Linux cloud-based server hosting, announced today the immediate availability of 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows Server 2008 within its Cloud Computing infrastructure. Parent company ServePath is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, and launched Windows Server 2008 dedicated hosting in February of this year.

With this release, GoGrid becomes one of the first Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers to offer Windows Server 2008 "in the cloud." The new Windows Server 2008 operating system from Microsoft sets new benchmarks for server stability, manageability, and security; therefore, interest from Windows Server customers wanting to try it out has been high. GoGrid customers can now deploy Windows Server 2008 servers in just a few minutes for as little as 19 cents an hour, with no commitment.

GoGrid is the Cloud Computing service that enables system administrators to quickly and easily create, deploy, load-balance and manage Windows and Linux cloud servers within minutes. GoGrid offers true "Control in the CloudTM" with its unique web-based, Graphical User Interface (GUI) which allows for "point and click" deployment of complex and flexible network infrastructures, which include load balancing and multiple web and database servers, all set up with icons through the GUI.

Initial Windows Server 2008 offerings on GoGrid include both 32-bit and 64-bit preconfigured templates. GoGrid users select the desired operating system and then choose preconfigured templates in order to minimize time to deploy. Pre-configurations include:

Windows Server 2008 Standard includes Terminal Services Gateway, Remote Desktop Client for Terminal Services, Application Server, Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP Server, DNS Server, and SMTP. "We're excited that with Windows Server 2008 offered on GoGrid, customers will be able to run our most powerful enterprise server software in the Cloud and take advantage of the increased security, reliability and ease of management that Windows Server 2008 can bring."

GoGrid continues to offer Cloud servers for Windows Server 2003 as well as various Linux distributions and will continue to expand GoGrid's "Control in the Cloud=TM" offerings in the future.
