Overcoming concerns about cloud
When anything new comes along, there are inevitably challenges that arise when adopting to the change. This fact is also true with cloud computing. However, these challenges can be overcome, according to Rick Blaisdell in a CloudTweaks report.
One of the biggest challenges to overcome is the general lack of understanding of the new service. These can be diminished by conducting research on the differences between the public, private ad hybrid clouds. If experienced organizations produce case studies and public information for individuals who are wary of the cloud, this may help eliminate some of the concerns, Blaisdell asserted.
Additionally, security has remained one of the biggest fears that make organizations hesitant about their migration to the cloud. The only way to counteract the fear of security issues is for organizations to carefully go over service level agreements and contracts with cloud providers to ensure that critical data remains safe, according to Blaisdell.
According to Forrester Research, the cloud security market is expected to grow to $1.5 billion by 2015. This demonstrates that security is a central issue among cloud users and should help ease some of the worries about how data will remain safe within the cloud.
