Cloud Servers

GoGrid Cloud Servers are resilient, high-performance workhorses that are preconfigured to get you up and running instantly. You have complete control over these machines—with root access, the ability to add data and applications, and the ability to control the data center location.

  • Easy to Use: Point-and-click provisioning through our robust management console lets you build a complete multi-server network in just a few minutes using either our management console or programmatically through our API.
  • High Performance: Not only are cloud servers advantageous compared to dedicated servers, our generous RAM-to-core resource allocations ensure our servers deliver the best possible price/performance ratio.
  • Free 24/7 Support: Technical Support is included with each account and is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Pricing

GoGrid offers hourly, monthly, semiannual, and annual Cloud Server pricing. With our hourly pay-as-you-go option, you simply pay for the resources you use. There is no commitment, and you’re free to cancel at any time. If you’re willing to commit to a prepaid monthly, semiannual, or annual Cloud Server plan, you can save money when compared to hourly Cloud Server charges.

Notes:

  • – Cloud Servers with Windows Server OS version 2008 and earlier deployed with 16 GB RAM or 24 GB are assigned 8 cores.
  • – Your CPU allocation will vary depending on the profile of the physical node on which your Cloud Server resides.
  • – Windows licensing is included for free on Cloud Servers.

MyGSI Migration

Deploy multi-data-center solutions without having to rebuild your Cloud Server. You can copy your GoGrid Server Image (MyGSI) for a one-time $50 fee. See our wiki for complete details.

Bandwidth Pricing (data transfer)

On GoGrid, data transfer is measured in gigabytes. There are no charges for private network data transfer between servers within a single data center. There are also no costs associated with inbound data transfer to your servers. You’ll only be charged based on your outbound data transfer. Pricing for outbound data transfer starts at just $0.12 per GB. See the Data Transfer page for complete details.

About Hourly Cloud Server Billing

With this option, you accrue usage charges by the hour for each virtual machine you create. To stop all charges, you simply delete all virtual servers in the account. For example, if you create a 1 GB server using GoGrid and 1 hour later delete the server, you accrue charges for 1 hour of usage. Usage consists of accumulated hourly charges, transfer, and cloud storage charges.

About Prepaid Cloud Server Billing

If you deploy prepaid servers, you’re billed in advance for each server. To stop all charges, you simply delete all virtual servers in the account before the end of the term. Prepaid servers are not prorated. For example, if you create a 1 GB monthly prepaid cloud server using GoGrid and 10 days later delete the server, you’ll still be charged for the full month. If you deploy a single server for 10 days, delete the server, and then deploy a second server for the rest of the month, you’ll be charged for two monthly prepaid cloud servers. Additional usage charges consist of transfer and cloud storage charges.

Components

  • Console Access: GoGrid console access makes it easy to administer your Cloud Servers. Whether you prefer to interact with your servers through the management console or have accidentally locked yourself out of SSH or Remote Desktop, the console is an easy and uncomplicated way to access your Cloud Servers.
  • Image Library: GoGrid maintains a complete selection of Windows and Linux server images. You can also create and manage custom server images using the MyGSI feature to drastically reduce the work and time it takes to deploy and rapidly scale servers. You can copy MyGSIs to multiple data centers for worldwide solutions.
  • API: GoGrid’s API is a web service that let developers and tech-savvy individuals programmatically control their interaction with their infrastructure. Typical API uses include auto-scaling cloud server networks, listing assigned public and private IP addresses, deleting cloud servers, and listing billing details—just to name a few. You can find more information on the GoGrid Wiki.
  • Resilient Architectures: At GoGrid, you can use our high-performance public or private network to build highly resilient, fault-tolerant architectures that span multiple data centers. GoGrid uses RAID 6+0 so you can be confident your data won’t be lost. And by using our storage features, you can also back up and redeploy servers anytime.
  • Persistent On-the-Box Storage and Block IP Allocation: We’ve architected GoGrid services to function as you’d expect. That means each Cloud Server has a persistent IP, a standard kernel, and comes with persistent on-the-box storage. You’re not forced to pay for additional storage to run a virtual machine.
  • SQL, MySQL, and Big Data Options: GoGrid offers a variety of SQL and No-SQL solutions. Our cloud’s unique architecture means we have a robust, fault-tolerant cloud solution for your database. If your unique situation requires a dedicated database server to be connected to the cloud, we can provide that as well.
  • Multiple Data Center Provisioning: GoGrid provides powerful provisioning tools that let you deploy infrastructure in a GoGrid data center of your choice. This approach makes it easy for your business to establish infrastructure in multiple geographic locations using a single infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) provider.

Use Cases

GoGrid’s hourly, monthly, semiannual, and annual cloud server solutions are designed to address a variety of needs. Whether you’re running a fast-changing development and test environment, a multi-server web application, or an internal database app, GoGrid has the right cloud server solution for you.

Hourly pay-as-you-go Cloud Servers: Hourly pay-as-you-go is the most flexible pricing option available, letting you deploy GoGrid Cloud Servers for as little as $.04 per hour. This is an ideal choice if you want an inexpensive, elastic, reliable, on-demand virtual server with absolutely no commitment or up-front charges. You pay for resources by the hour and can increase or decrease the number of servers to meet your needs. We recommend pay-as-you-go pricing if you’re running:

  • – Applications with short-term or unpredictable workloads
  • – Applications that are in the process of being developed and tested
  • – Short-term proof of concept or project-based workloads where speed to market, flexibility, and zero commitment are important

Monthly, semiannual, and annual prepaid Cloud Servers: Prepaid Cloud Servers are designed to let you save compared to hourly pay-as-you-go costs. You prepay for your server for a specified term; in return for your term commitment, you save significantly. We recommend this choice if you’re willing to commit to deploying a server for a longer period of time. Prepaid servers are ideal if you’re running:

  • – Applications with more predictable usage
  • – Web applications or steady-state applications

Compare

Compare GoGrid Cloud Servers to Rackspace and Amazon and see the difference.

GoGrid Cloud Servers are architected to provide the best price-to-performance ratios on the market today. Independent tests confirm our Cloud Servers deliver as much as 4 times the performance of similar Amazon servers and twice the performance of Rackspace cloud servers. But don’t take our word for it.
